1935 — The organization formally adopts the name Federal Bureau of Investigation.
1972 — The FBI establishes the Behavioral Science Unit at Quantico under Supervisory Special Agent Jack Kirsch, with Howard Teten and Patrick Mullany among its original members.
1985 — The FBI establishes the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime, bringing behavioral consultation, research, training, and violent-crime information services into a broader institutional structure.
